“We used the streamwise gmbh ProCap system to help with the flow visualisation and CFD validation in a model-scale automotive wind tunnel model for a previous employer. Andrin Landolt and his team worked with us and the wind tunnel team to provide a really good service.
Hard physical work for them holding the probe in the air stream though! I understand that they have a higher resolution probe in use now to improve handling in wake areas. Easier to setup and more economical than a PIV system and less temperamental. Results also immediately visible. Limited by access in closed section tunnels though.
I would certainly recommend looking at this as a flow visualisation option.”
